Including everyone in... Church Communication

• Is there somebody available and trained to explain any leaflets or special announcements?
• Have you used simple, everyday language in your communications?
• Can you double-check later with people with learning disabilities, their families and/or their supporters to ensure that they have understood?
• Are there people in the church, apart from the family members, supporters and carers, who would enjoy befriending someone with a learning disability - so that people can enjoy social contact with others in the fellowship?
• Are there people who would be willing to sit down with someone with a learning disability before or after a service to prepare and give a simple summary of the message?
